Apples
When we moved into our house, our lovely family (Brian’s Mom and Sister) brought us some dwarf apple trees. They were supposed to bear fruit right away. Well…fast forward four years and we finally have apples! I must give the poor trees props, though. They have been ravaged by deer, so I can understand why they weren’t producing. Unfortunately, all these apples are on two teeny branches on one side of the tree. Needless to say, this is not a good circumstance for the tree since all the weight is breaking the poor puny branches. We will pick the fruit prematurely, so the tree doesn’t break, but I had to get pictures first!
How special to have your own apples! My family used to live in Missouri and my dad spent untold hours laboring over establishing an orchard. There were about a dozen apple trees and a dozen peach trees. Finally they started bearing fruit…and that very summer we moved. And the new owners of the houe told him they were planning to take the orchard out! That about killed him.
This is a beautiful photo, Stacy. Makes me want fall to come. Christina’s right, that is so neat to grow your own apples. When my life calms down a bit, I really want a vegetable garden 😉
Amazing. I can’t believe so many grew in such a small area.
