We made our annual trek to the Renaissance Festival today.  We met some friends there and had a very nice afternoon.

I didn’t make anything new for the kids to wear, but fortunately they have plenty in their closet to pull from.  It was on the chilly side, so it was a good opportunity to wear Halloween costumes of years past.   As usual, the kidlets garnered attention as they went through the throngs of the village.  I asked Anya before we went if she wanted fancy hair, so I did it up fancy.

Just outside the front gates of the castle

In the Children’s Realm where the Littles were participating in a performance of the Pied Piper

A fairy that gave the girls bubbles and seashells.  Her wings were very elaborate.

Anya getting “knighted”

Getting a boost from Daddy to see the Joust

Playing a catapulting frog game – they were getting the rules explained to them by the hawker.  Much more entertaining than a “Carney” at a regular festival.

That was basically the highlights of the festival.  We also walked around and saw a fire dancing performance and the kids rode a camel.  It was a pleasant afternoon on a cool day where it wasn’t too packed due to the weather warding off the softer souls.  A little warm Mead and we were just fine. 🙂
