Anya: Everyone loves Will in my class. He’s cool.
Mommy: Really? Why is Will so cool?
Anya: Oh, you know…his hair, his body, his clothes….
At which point she stops and stares at her mother who is busting a gut and saying, “Oh my God…I’m not ready for this!”
Yes, she is a 5 year old going on 13. Although, they do seem to start earlier in their teenage years, so maybe she’s acting like an 11 or 12 year old. It must be all the hormones in the food…they are adding to the little ones’ hormones and creating little hormone monsters earlier than usual.
We have discussed all her “boy friends”. By her own admission, she realizes she cannot kiss a boy until high school. That’s right girlie, keep those boys as just friends until that time. Of course, not all the boys in her class are so enamoured with her and are her buddies.
A friend and neighbor went to have lunch with her daughter and saw Anya walking into the lunchroom with another little girl. They were being followed by two boys who were spitting at them. Apparently, they had the presence of mind to stand far enough back that they didn’t hit their targets. They also did it while their teacher wasn’t looking. I’m hoping that this stops fairly soon. She sits right next to this boy at her table in class, and she said he isn’t nice to her. I have several guesses as to why he doesn’t like her, when otherwise she makes friends very easily, but I shall keep them to myself. I have no doubt this girlie will stand up for herself, if needed.
Isn’t growing up so fun?!
Oh, I can so relate to this post. I can’t even imagine what it will be like when they really reach that age. I am not looking forward to those years.
Oh she cracks me up! I am so dreading that stage with Itty Bit… let’s hope he thinks that girls are yucky until he’s about 27 or so… unless of course we move closer to you guys… then maybe he can hang out with Anya once he graduates high school 🙂
Good thing your beautiful girl has a big brother to keep those boys in line!
LOL yep just keep instilling that thought process… *you can’t kiss a boy till you are in high school* ROFL
Oy! That’s all I can say – OY!
hehehehehe too cute and scary all at the same time. 😉 I went through this once with my daughter although we didn’t start until she was 10. That was she started living with us. But still, kids grow up to fast sometimes.
