I know I already mentioned this, but sometimes I like to beat a subject senseless. I think the one thing that Anya had the most fun with on her birthday was playing in the wet sandbox.
I was blissfully ignoring them both as I was planting some new perennials that are sure to die through this upcoming cold snap. Anya started out right next to me, but had crawled down to the sandbox, through wet dirt and all. She seemed completely oblivious to the fact that it was cold and wet. I saw that the kids wanted to play in the sandbox and took off the tarp, noting it was even wetter than before. I then left them to play.
Upon getting my plants in, after about 5 or so minutes, I went back over to the sandbox. Anya’s jeans were soaked and she was splashing and laughing. I’m fairly certain she takes after her father…I would be going inside to change and warm up, since it was only in low 60’s. She was happy as a pig in mud, which she closely resembled at that point.
She also had some suspect wet sand up by her mouth, so she probably tried sampling it. This is a not so big surprise. It is sure to turn up later in her diaper and give her intestines a good little scrub out.
Meanwhile Kai was using his little bucket and spade to move the sand around, making sure to not directly touch the wet sand. He is a bit prissy, but so cute in his concentration.
