A few weeks ago we attended my 15 year high school class reunion. 15 YEARS! Ack!! Wow, where did the time go? I was really looking forward to it, as recently I reconnected with a friend from high school that I hadn’t seen in years. Finally, we would have chance to see each other. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any photos taken since I was too busy gabbing.
I was happy to see that I wasn’t the only one with a mommy muffin top. Whew! The pressure was off! My big plans in preparation for the reunion were to lose my 10 mommy pounds and have a fresh red-hair dye job. Alas, I was lazy. Still I tried to look my best, and as I was getting ready for the dinner/dance/free beer, my little man said to me:
Mommy, are you a princess?
Yeah, I think I’ll keep him. 🙂
There were a few people that I didn’t recognize, but most people were aging fairly well. They did look older, wilst I, of course, have not aged one lick. Well, besides some laugh lines and extra poundage. I mean, I had long hair in high school, too, so I really haven’t changed that much, right??
I was not surprised that the cliques hung together and some didn’t speak to others outside of their group. That was their friend group and comfort zone, so it is to be expected. A few of my classmates got really rather drunk, which is always amusing to watch. Nothing like an endless tap of beer to bring out people’s inner personalities! I danced with the girls, and our poor husbands sat around being terribly bored. But there was free beer, so they kept themselves occupied.
At least I had fun! I must say kudos to our husbands for being patiently bored while us ladies were busy chatting and catching up. I couldn’t have been much fun for them. It was one of those “spouse duties”, though, that we all have to do at some point.
And didn’t we look fabulous?? 😉 This photo was taken by one of the committee members. We were ready for the free beer…notice that “where’s the free beer” frenzied look in our eyes? 🙂
Free beer frenzied look…is that what that smile is about? You look beautiful.
I’m strangely in the mood for a reunion as I remember dancing with the girls.
What a fun time…bring on the memories! You look great!
Thanks ladies! 🙂 Kai’s comment made my night, too. So, it’s okay to be old. 😀
