Thursday’s theme at Picture This is Fly. There were lots of things flying through the air this weekend, most notably trees, branches, deck umbrellas, anything not tied down…
…and then the calm comes.

Wow! That looks scary. Hope everyone is safe!
The calm photo is stunning, however. Amazing how that happens after the storm.
Holy Moly! Was it a tornado? The calm picture is fantastic.
It was straight-line winds up to 70 miles per hour. It hit our neighborhood pretty bad unfortunately. We were, of course, in the basement at 3:20 am when I went downstairs to see the wind and rain coming horizontally. It was scary.
Oh, and I forgot to mention the lightning. The first picture up there with the broken tree I think was a lightning strike. Notice the charred wood where it is broken? It was pretty much constant lightning, too.
Good grief! Please tell me all that damage was not in your yard alone.
Love the glow of the calm shot.
Holy Cow! That must have been a tad bit frightening. I’m picturing the Wizard of Oz where things asre flying by the window…
I’m sure glad the calm finally came.
Goodness what a storm! Earlier in the year, we had huge storms like that nearly every other day – and one of them ended up with the tree in the back yard struck by lightening. Scary! I’m glad you all are okay.
Wow, the CALM picture is gorgeous. What a sky!
Thanks ladies!
No Melody, not in our yard, but in a walk around the block. 🙁 In the last tree down, you can see our fence through the wreckage.
Goodness! that’s a lot of damage. That last photo is incredible.
Wow! Wild stuff. Not being au fait with basements…were you down there hiding? Was there any damage to your house?
Yes, we were down in the basement hiding…at 3:30 am. That was a treat to get the kids back in bed after the worst of the storm passed. That and they wanted to PEE when we were down there. Luckily we had a spare little empty trash can since we don’t have a bathroom down there. Of course the next day they thought they could do that again while they were down there playing. Ick!
Holy cow. That last photo is beautiful, though. One good thing about the storm, I guess…
Ugh. The storms have been a bit relentless. Glad you are all safe. Your last shot is absolutely stunning, Stacy.
