I guess that is to be expected, right?  Winter is generally chilly in these parts.  This winter seems overly long, though.  We have had snow on the ground since mid-November and we have had more than the usual amount of cold snaps.   We got 17″ of snow from Sunday morning until noon on Monday…a few more fell after noon.

The weather forecast is potentially showing another snowstorm.  Oh joy.  We are on track to get a record snowfall this winter…probably by the end of February.  Then we have March to look forward to, which is typically our snowiest month.

These are some shots of the kids playing outside in the past month.  There were a few days where the weather warmed up earlier.  The snow has been melted, we saw the grass on our front yard, then another foot or so of snow fell.  I doubt the snow hills will melt very fast, and there is sure to be flooding this spring.

Then this day was in the midst of a warm up.  I had picked Anya up early from school since her abdomen hurt.  It proved to be just a strained muscle, so that meant we both had an afternoon of a little freedom.  I could have taken her back to school and I could have gone back to work…but, WHY??  We shoveled the foot of melting snow and ice off the deck, and then we did a little swinging and gathering of snowballs.  I was so warm from shoveling that I took off my coat before I followed after Anya to the swingset.  I was walking through a foot of snow, but I was warm!

It was just Mother Nature teasing us, but we weren’t complaining!
