I have written about my affection for Penzey’s before, so here is another installment.  This is a small company based in Wisconsin, and I have always received wonderful customer service from them.  It usually takes a week to get the order, and they always throw in something free.  Usually they put some nutmeg nuts in the package, but this time I was ordering nutmegs so they sent me a small jar of Bouquet Garni.

Caring for the customer is becoming a rare thing, and how we appreciate it when it happens these days!

Look at all these wonderful spices!  Mostly I got spice blends to use for cooking fish.  If you hadn’t figured it out by now…we still have a freezer full of fish.  I’m running out of ideas, so some new spice blends were in order.  The Arizona Dreaming and Singapore seasonings are perfect for fish.  Seriously yummy.

Sorry I haven’t had any recipe posts in the last few weeks.  I have been working and not having much ambition for doing anything too fancy when I get home at night (late, usually).  Next week I should have something to post, though.  Tomorrow is the annual wine tasting party, with the judging of the appetizers.  I have won the last three years, so the pressure is ON!  I was going to make crab-stuffed deviled eggs, but they just didn’t have that “wow” factor.  They were good (crab with sweet thai chili sauce in them), though.  I have decided to make sausage stuffed mushrooms with a surprise center.  Wish me luck!
