Seniors
This weekend I was blessed that my neice and their German exchange student/sister let me take their senior pictures. It was great fun, but the day was quite gloomy. The rain held off long enough to get the photos, though, and it was overcast. If you read my photography tips, you know I love overcast days! That meant I didn’t have to deal with shadows on their faces, so that was good at least, despite the strong winds blowing their hair in their faces all the time. It is hard to achieve perfection when you are dealing with mother nature. I had a spot downtown I wanted to take them (see the ruins in the post below) and we also went to the little lake in my neighborhood that has a lovely wooden bridge. I think I got quite a few “keepers”, so the day was a success!
It would be pretty hard to pick my best shot this week, so here are three!
Picture 1: ISO 400, f5.0, 1/320 SS
Picture 2: ISO 400, f5.6, 1/100 SS
Picture 3: ISO 400, f1.8, 1/1250
Beautiful as always but I love the first one best.
I love the last one…what a gorgeous smile!
What awesome pictures!! I loveeee the first one! To be so carefree… love it!
They are all gorgeous, but I echo Melody, that SMILE is so amazing–she could retire on toothpaste commmercial revenues!
How awesome, I love the first one.
looks like such a fun shoot! 🙂
i heart overcast days too but we rarely get them here.

I really like the composition in the second photo! 🙂
They are all great, as usual, Stacy. I really love the first one and the composition on the second.
Oh what FUN!!! All three are wonderful – lucky girls to have you doing thier senior portraits – but #2 takes my breath away. Her expression…so serene, wise, I can’t even express everything I see in it. And I love the green sweater against the green trees.
Thanks ladies! I am very happy with all the pictures. The girls looked at me like I was a little bit wacky when I told them I wanted them to jump up in the air. Oh well!! They did what I told them to do, so I wasn’t letting that chance slip by me. 😀
Those are absolutely gorgeous! And I love the jumping shot! All the colors see so fresh and vivid!
Wow those pictures are geat!!! thanks for stoping by my blog!

Ps it’s fall here to but for some reason those flowers didn;t die, lucky for me LOL
Looks like they had fun AND got some great pictures!
I do like the third picture, but the second one is fantastic…her sweater and the leaves…it just works for me.
Thanks again for all the compliments! 😀
These are awesome! I hope you don’t mind, I’m going to use you for inspiration–I’m doing some senior portraits for a friend’s daughter in a few weeks.
Those are beautiful shots, Stacy. Your niece and her exchange student/sister are extremely lucky to have such a talented photographer in their family! 🙂
How fun, I can see their reflection in the jump shot. Those second two are fabulous portraits, and the smile in the last photo…wow! Nice work, Stacy.
Oh yes, we are EXTREMELY lucky to have such a talented gal in the family 🙂 ALL the shots she took are excellent. It will be hard to pick just a few to print. The girls had a total blast, even though the weather wasn’t cooperating with us. They are beauties–I’m so proud 🙂
