I hope everyone enjoyed the miracle of nature that occurred last weekend.  I *fondly* remember many a rodeo occurring on Memorial Day weekend…it was cold and wet just about every time.

We spend Saturday busily planting perennials for the rabbits to eat and Sunday we spent the day mostly inside as it was far too hot and humid to actually be outside.  Of course Brian was putting together the new sandbox in the garage with Kai *helping* him out.  I’m pretty sure they both lost a pound or three in water weight from sweating so much.

Monday the kids got to spend some time in their little pool and in the sandbox.  They both got wet and dirty, so fun was had by all!  Here are the pictures from Monday:  http://www.tabblo.com/studio/stories/view/4247/

Yesterday I looked outside in our garden and I’m so happy to say that our mission was accomplished.  The lovely bunnies have thoroughly eaten our Asian Irises.  I’m just waiting to see what they decide to munch on next.

Anyone have a pellet gun we can borrow?

At this point I’m ready to go Neanderthal and start throwing rocks at them when they so bravely show up in our yard while we are out there.  These are obviously City Rabbits that know no fear of humans since they know we have no power over them.  The most I can do at this point is to have Kai chase them around the yard.  I’m hoping they get annoyed and leave.
