Brian and I took a short-ish vacation to Vegas last week.  Without the urchins, because that’s not really a child-friendly town.  Lots of breasts, 5″ heels and 4″ skirts for the viewing.  It’s a fun town for adults, though, plus they have some great side trips you can take that are pretty close.  The hotels are huge and very cool (we stayed at Aria) and they are tons of great restaurants.

Brian’s Mom came and stayed with the kids, since they had to go to school, which was very nice of her.  The kids were disgruntled that they couldn’t go on vacation, but we have promised them another trip on a plane to see some friends.

We flew out Wednesday morning during the pre-dawn hours, and hoped to evade any late flights due to the snow.  We didn’t evade the snow, but the plane was at least on schedule.  Yes, still snow in late April.  Yes, I’m sure we are coming up on the record snowfall this year.

Spring, where are you?  We really, really, really miss you!

Wednesday we went to the Hoover Dam.  We basked in the warmth of Nevada.  It is rather huge.

This was the view from the big new bridge by the dam.

Lake Mead

Inside the dam.  I refrained from asking the dam guide where Megatron was being kept. 😉

View of the Colorado River and the big new bridge spanning the canyon.

That night we had a very yummy sushi dinner at Shibuya at the MGM Grand.

I’ll show you pictures from Red Rock Canyon tomorrow to not bog down this post with too many pictures.  That was Thursday.
