The Pumpkin Patch
We went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. We traveled far and wide to come back to our neighborhood pumpkin patch. I was hoping to find a farm that had some animals and was more picturesque. No dice. There were a few other places that had the pumpkins all picked and lined up in nice rows. We are more adventurous…we wanted to have the kids pick it out of the field.
Anya looked and looked. As per the norm, she was having a hard time finding the perfect pumpkin.
Kailan found one right away, of course! A small one that he could carry.
Once they were done, they played in the hay a little. Then when we went to pay, Anya found her perfect pumpkin…one of the little miniature ones. Just the right size!
You should come up here to the pumpkin patch by Rice Lake. They have animals, a corn maze, food and crafts, and I’m not sure what all else since I haven’t been there in a few years. I plan to take the Sara’s next Sunday since there is an exchange student pumpkin carving event in the afternoon. It is picturesque, I think, but they may not be able to go into the field for the pumpkins. However, they do have a pumpkin catapult which is interesting!
And they’re all bundled up. Sweet.
Susie, that sounds nice! Maybe something we can keep in mind for next year…
I love the perspective you have on that second shot!
I love the feeling of vastness in the field shots, and Kai beams with pride over his choice. I am missing the beautiful pumpkin farm in the mountains…the hayride, animals, corn field maze, even the dumb old talking pumpkin heads…
I am totally, completely in love with that first photo. It rocks.
Anya looks so desolate out in that vast field all by herself…the good kind of desolate. Shot #2 is awesome. And Kai looks mighty proud of his pumpkin! I really, really need to get Nadia to a pumpkin patch!
GORGEOUS! That first shot is so perfect. I’m in love with it.
Thanks everyone! Although I don’t like all the blowouts I get on those sunny days, the wonderful blue sky sure is pretty against the fall colors. 🙂
