Let’s see, how shall we describe this past year?  Challenging??  Yes, challenging would be the word.  Anya continues to be our outgoing, fun loving little angelic-looking girl.  She also has proved to be strong-willed and a bit cranky at times.  This year she loves…

*   Singing…Anya loves to sing.  She makes up songs and sings those that she hears at school.  Her teacher has said she is a quick learner when it comes to singing new songs at school.

*  Dancing…the singing and dancing go quite well together.

*  Drawing…it is a good thing we have so many art supplies at home, because she uses them quite prolifically.  Sometimes she “teaches” school with her many pieces of paper strewn all over the place.

*  Sleeping in…oh how she loves sleeping.

Our little girl definitely keeps the household interesting.  She is  a mover and a shaker (when she’s awake) and loves to be outside or play games with you or go for walks.  She has a great vocabulary and can have some pretty interesting conversations.  She likes to have one of us lay down with her at night for a few minutes and just talk about “stuff”.  It’s a good way to connect and see what their little minds are thinking.

She continues to have many friends at school, as she is an outgoing and boisterous little girl.  We are going to have a birthday party with her friends on Saturday.  Our city has an art center that does birthday parties for kids, so we signed up for making clay animals.  It should be fun for the kids and something different.  Most seem to prefer the jumpy house place that costs 2-3x as much as this party will be.  The kids’ “treat” will be their clay creation, which unfortunately will need to be fired in the kiln first.  I will have to figure out how to get them to the kids afterwards.   A bit of a pain, but oh well.  At least it won’t be a bag full of cheap toys or sugar that we normally get.

Happy birthday, pretty girl
