Last weekend was a whirl of parties for the little princess. On Saturday we had her party at the art center, which was well received by all the little kids. They got to make something akin to an animal…of sorts. Anya’s is a mutant Kitty. I made some clay flowers while the kids were creating and she decided she wanted to put the flowers on the kitty’s back. Ummm…okay.
Then the kids got cupcakes! Whoohoo, sugar before lunch! We didn’t do treat bags, as basically I think the whole treat bag phenomenom is a huge pain and adds useless crap and candy to our household. The kids “treat” will be their clay creation when I drop them off after they are fired in the kiln.
On Sunday, we had the family over. She got even more presents, and was quite delighted to continue to be the center of attention. She got some very nice gifts from everyone, including a Barbie party jet that didn’t come with many of the stickers attached. I had to put stickers on the little drink bottles, for goodness sakes! Isn’t the price of the toy supposed to include those types of things?? 😉
GREAT idea for a party! and I’m with you on the ‘treat’ bags >:-( grrr
