fuzzy wuzzy

This project was soley from a pattern which you can find here.  The only thing I modified was not using ties and using buttons instead.  Ever tried to keep something tied on a two-year old??  It obviously wasn’t a parent that designed that part!  In addition, it ran a bit big around the middle.  She needs to gain about 5 more pounds to fill it out.  The fabric I used is just this ultra soft fuzzy chenille variation.  It makes you want to cuddle her more than normal. 😉

The other thing I got finished on Sunday was another Mei Tai baby carrier for a friend.  I used this beautiful embossed peach silk and soft brushed cotton for the straps.  The carrying bag below shows the colors, as the Mei Tai is in the bag.

I’m not sure I can tell you just how much I am SO OVER making these.  Even though it only takes me around 3 (uninterrupted) hours to make one, I just dread, DREAD, Dread making them.  DREAD. 😉  I have kept a record of the ones I made, and if I haven’t missed any, I’ve made 57 of them.  That’s a lot in two years.

I know I promised a tutorial on them awhile back and I’m going to put it up on this post at some time today.  I just need to turn it into a pdf, so it’s easier to print out.  The pictures aren’t fabulous or anything but it should do fine to show how to make one.

Another thing, I’m going to try to just post my sewing/craftiness projects on Tuesday’s now.  Carrie has a Crafty Tuesday thing going on over at her place that day, so then I will tag along on that.  I also won’t bore everyone to tears with 15 posts a week.  I know everyone only has so much time to read blogs!

Edited:  Here is the Mei Tai Tutorial.  It is a big file due to all of the pictures and I made it into a pdf so make sure you have Adobe Reader to be able to view it.  Now go buy some pretty (but sturdy!) fabrics, and make yourself a baby carrier!  Let me know if you have any questions on it!
