I didn’t get much done on the sewing front this past week. I worked out every day last week, so that was my excuse. I did get a project done that had been waiting for a year. I spray-painted some picture frames and put my wall of pictures back up after taking them down when I had to paint the wall. They still are all mismatched in shape, but at least they are kinda matching colors now. I’m not entirely happy with the layout, but…oh well. It’s pretty much done, so that’s the important part! As I was getting the pictures out to put them up again, Anya said, “Where are the pictures of me?” Yes, that is how far behind the pictures were. I had only a few of her and most were of Kailan as a baby. I printed some new ones up, so now there is a disproportionate ones of Anya. She’ll be happy. 😉
I knocked out this baby blanket and burp rags late on Sunday night. The baby shower is on Saturday, so I actually have some days to spare! These are going to one of my “cousins” who is pregnant after many years of not being able to have a baby. Much drama has occured in her love life, but this little baby I know will be well loved. I love these colors together. A non-babyish baby blanket, but still girly. The pink is actually more of a hot pink…I don’t think it photographed very well.
I am also going to give her one of my alphabet books. They have been well-received by the new parents, and also by Anya’s Kindergarten teacher. I’m so glad everyone likes them, since it took me a good year to compile the pictures for it!
I have another baby blanket I need to make, too. I forgot that I needed some boy fabrics when I was buying for the girl. That baby has already been born, too, so I’m late like usual. I think I need to get some hunting camo for that one…his daddy is a big time hunter. His first son’s name is Hunter. Not so surprising, right there. 😉
After going through the kids’ closets I realized they don’t need too much for summer clothing. That means there is no rush in getting them done. Good thing since I’m obviously not rushing into the sewing room lately. I guess I need a break! 🙂
Your blankets are always so gorgeous. Yeah for working out every day!! Having to wear summer clothing makes working out more of a priority for me. : )
