Oh boy was that ever fun. We went to our local landscaping store and ordered the extra 14 yards of mulch we thought we would need to finish up, knowing that we would need to wait for them to get more. Apparently they forgot to deliver it after they got it in. We called a few times and finally Brian drove there, saw they had mulch and finally got them to understand that they needed to deliver mulch that we had already paid for…about 2 weeks ago.
Of course, this is when Brian’s athritis in his foot decided to flare up. We think we have figured out that a few times a year Brian golfs aaaaannnnnd a few times a year his athritis flares up a few days later. He might not be able to golf anymore. He is in quite a bit of pain, can’t sleep and can’t walk very well.
This meant that he was not very useful in the mulch department. I went out there Saturday after I got the pictures off my camera from our photo shoot and edited one picture. After a few hours of shoveling mulch into the wheelbarrel, dumping the mulch and raking mulch I asked him to come out and rake, and then it went a little faster. I was going a bit slower by that time, though. It was hot and humid and I was covered with mulch dust, but dang it we got’er done! This is what 20 yards of mulch looks like…
This is the upper corner of the yard with our new apple trees
I am sooooo glad it is done!
Man, oh man. That is a lot of mulch. It was worth all the work. It looks great!!
The mulch looks fantastic, just think of the workout you got :)! I moved 2 dumptruck loads myself this spring, it is lots of hard work.
You are my heroine! This looks amazing. You must feel really proud of your efforts! Oh, and yoghurt for sunburn by the way.
