Playtime!
We got this stacking game from a friend for free, and Anya just loves to play with it. Most of the time she just stacks them up and pushes them over, occassionally let me play with the blue or purple ones. My job is to hold them up until she has all of them on and then she can wack it over. Fun times, People.
Even Kitty thought it looked fun! 😉
OMG, Anya’s picture is darling but the Kitty picture is just too cute. Thanks for the smile and giggle this morning.
I love kitty playing with it!
How do you get your pictures so bright with out the use of a flash? Do you just have really bright sunlight coming in through the window? Or do you use a flash? I love your pics and am trying to do the same with the candid photography.
Thanks!
haha! I love that kitty is playing too! so cute!
Yes, our Kitty, she’s a character. 😀
Kim, to get my pictures so bright, it really is both in camera and how I process them. I push my camera to the point of almost blowing the highlights (where you will have complete white and all detail lost) and then when I process them in photoshop, I brighten them up a bit more by using Levels (Elements) or Curves (only in CS3) and Brightness/Contrast adjustment layers. I can erase out areas that get too bright and “blown”.
On this picture, since she was facing away from the window and her face was still dark, I also used the dodge tool and went over her face a little with it at about 15%. You don’t want to use that too much since you lose detail.
It really does start with getting the exposures as good as I can in my camera, though. If it is a really dark picture and you try to fix it to be bright in Photoshop, then it will introduce a lot of noise/grain and the picture won’t turn out very well.
Oh, and I didn’t use my flash on this picture. My settings were f2.0, SS 1/125, and I think ISO 400.
Hope that helps!
Too cute. I like how everyone enjoys a new toy. 😉
And I agree that curves is an awesome feature in CS.
I love that kitty played with it too! Great angles on both shots.
I love the piggy tails! I remember a toy like that. Nadia and I have a similar game with pop-ons – I hold them and hand them to her one by one. :o) The curious kitty cat gave me a giggle!
