Well, here are the kids in all their Halloween glory.  A bit dishelveled as this was after the 1.5+ hours of trick or treating out in the cold.  One of the little neighbor girls tagged along (Anya’s little friend, L.), and the kids got much candy.

Unfortunately, we could not find Anya’s mask before they went.  Turns out it was in the laundry.  FYI…it doesn’t launder well…

This would be the scope and magnitude of our Halloween decorations.  Impressive, right?  The kids made those little foam houses from kits I purchased from Michaels.  FYI, they were not child friendly and took much assistance from Mommy.

We also managed to make it back to my hometown last Saturday for my cousin’s Halloween party.  We figured the kids needed to have a reason to wear their costume more than once.  There are no costume parties in our schools.  That might offend someone.

My cousin’s family did a great job.  Her kids have a lot of fun doing a scary trail through the woods and enlist their friends to scare everyone as they go in groups down the haunted trail.  Anya was very jaded and didn’t want to be scared. That didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy it, though, since she went on the trail twice. 😉

Part of my “goals” for 2011 was to get better at taking pictures at events.  I am obviously failing miserable at this endeavor.  I looked at my album for October and have only around 20 pictures.  I forgot my camera this weekend, so I didn’t get any pictures.

Need to get better at that.

Right now my main goal in photography is to figure out what our Christmas card will be this year.  I loved last year’s card so much, that this year will be a big challenge to top it.  So far I have no clue what I am doing.

I try to get them done and out the door the day after Thanksgiving.  With the way things have gone, I’m not holding out much hope that it will happen this year.
