My To-Do list is acquiring epic proportions.  Thanks to Pinterest.  Thanks also to my lack of getting anything done lately.

Thankfully, I squirreled away some time across a few weekends to get a few things off my I-want-to-try-this list.

Project #1

I had these tiles left over from tiling the kitchen a few years ago.  These are the tiles that I special ordered from designs I made, so I wanted to do something with them.  They have been sitting in a drawer for about three years, so it is about time.    I decided to make them into hot plates for the kitchen.  I got some cork and then just hot glued them on to the tiles.  At first I tried spray glue and that didn’t work all that great.

Of course, my glue gun trigger broke in the process of gluing.

Of course.

I finally get around to doing this and can’t get it done because something broke.  *sigh*

That basically sums up my crafting Karma lately.

New glue gun to the rescue!  In hind-sight I should have warmed up the tiles before using the glue gun.  They were so cool that the glue hardened way too quickly and I had to glue in sections.  If it were nice and warm, I could have glued it all at the same time.

Project #2

My sister needed some winter duds for her little Jack Russel Terrior, Tipsy.  This is the first one I made.  It was too small.

I tell you, my crafting Karma has been on the fritz lately.

Upon getting some updated measurements, I redid the pattern and made this:

Materials: Nylon exterior, fleece interior and minky for the collar.  Sport zipper.

This is how it fits her:

Project #3

I wanted to cover up the logo on this hat.

All my friends already know I’m a wino…no need to advertise it to the rest of the world. Especially for a less than stellar winery. 😉

I had some peacock feathers that I took off a masquerade mask that the kids had well-loved (i.e wrecked).  I pulled them off since they were in danger of falling off anyways.  A bit of hot glue…and VOILA!

Project #4

I have a lot of scrapbook paper, and some of it is handmade paper.  It is very cool, has a nice feel and totally sucks to use as scrapbook paper.  Nothing sticks to it.  I thought they might work well for turning into paper flowers, so I thought I would give that a try.

Materials used:  Scrapbook paper, chopstick, floral tape

Method:  cut out a swirl pattern for the center and then cut out varying sizes of petals.  Attach all to the chopstick with floral tape.

Project #5

I knitted a cowl with three different yarns on the yellow circle Knifty Knitter loom.

I also made a few other things for presents.  Unfortunately, I won’t be able to show it until after Christmas. 🙂
