Kailan is turning 8 years old today, and yet again…another year has just flown by!
Last night I balloon-bombed his room, so he would wake up to something fun.
After school we will be taking him to the bowling alley so he can play some games and/or bowl. Yes, quality entertainment. 😉
Then we are going home so he can have a gourmet dinner of corndogs and mac n’ cheese. Yum. Jealous, aren’t ya??
Tomorrow he is having his lizard party with his friends. Remember this picture?
Anya: Dude, you be crazy! I ain’t touching those nasty things.
We are doing that again. The kids have a blast with it. I have little lizards and snakes for them to paint afterwards and an alligator game. Their goodie bag consisted of their painted lizard or snake (I got other animals for the four girls in case they didn’t want a lizard or snake), some of amphibian sling shots, some plastic snakes, and reptile silly bands. No candy.
I sent out his invitation a bit late, and right before the Thanksgiving holiday. Luckily most of his little friends could come. I did his invite quickly, ordered it and it had a few grammatical errors upon receiving it. That’s what I get for doing it late at night in a rush. Hate it when that happens!
On Sunday his family comes to celebrate with us. He is not getting his favorite food, then. 😉 I am making a squash lasagna (using carnival squash, which tastes a lot like butternut…it’s really tasty) and pork loin.
At least he gets cake. 🙂
Happy birthday to Kailin. A lizard party, what a great mom you are. I really have been enjoying reading your blog and looking at your fantastic pictures, just no time to comment.
Amazing how much they’ve grown since I first stumbled on your blog!
I love the impish look in his eyes in those portraits – love love love it!
Happy belated birthday Kailan. I bet he was so excited when he woke up to all those balloons.
they sure grow up fast, don’t they ?
