Did I tell you that I got 20 pages done the other weekend? I did?? Well, here are some more of the pages I got completed!
As you can see, I like to do two pages at a time so they match. Not all of mine are that way, but I have quite a few like this. The 10 pages last week I actually did whilst on vacation over a few days. After the kids went to bed, I plopped in a movie (or two) and scrapped at the kitchen table. I got a lot done, probably 12-14 pages, I think. Then, the all day retreat (9:30am – 8pm) with 20-some pages, so you would think I would be close to getting caught up, right?? Ha! I still have a ways to go. My 2007 scrapbook is full to the brim right now, so I don’t know how I’m going to get everything in there. It may flow into a second scrapbook. Oh well! I’m sure there will be some years where I don’t get much done, so it will all balance out in the end. 🙂
I’m in scrapbooking mode right now, so hopefully I can get more caught up in the next few weeks. I have pictures printed through November, so it would be nice to get those all done at least.
Since I know it can get hard when you are trying to do a bunch of pages at once, I thought I would post a blog that I have found inspiration at for scrapbooking:
If you look on their sidebar, you will find links to the designers blogs and find more inspiration there. I also subscribe to Scrapbooks Etc. and that is a good magazine to get inspiration from, too. Plus, it shows you how to do different techniques for your pages. Some of it is a bit much for me, but it is neat to see.
Now…
How to be an organized scrapbooker
So, this is my plan and I hope it works.
I have a pretty box that fits my 12×12 papers. I got it with a scrapbooking kit that had a ton of stuff with it, including an album, for the low price of $15. A great deal! Actually, I bought two, the other one is a nice neutral dark brown, cream and black, and it holds my scrapbooking papers.
I went through my mountainous stack of pictures and sorted them with blog entries I copied, reformatted and printed out. Next, I paired them with papers, letters and embellishments that I thought would look nice together. Then each of the project page(s) were stacked in my pretty box. Now when I want to scrapbook, I can just get my box out. It allows me to be organized enough to get many pages done in one sitting, and I don’t have to get everything out to do it. Not that it still isn’t a bit messy. 😉
I LOVE your scrapbooking style! These pages are beautiful!
Thanks Alissa! 🙂 It is a fun to do, if you can find the time that is! I find that if I just do 2-4 pages at a time I can still be a little creative. Too many more and the creative juices start to run dry.
“Surviving the TODDLER!” haha, that’s the bet part! I love all your layouts. Seeing all these is giong to motivate me to start scrapping again…even tho the thought it overwhelming since I haven’t done a SINGLE PAGE since Nadia’s birth. You are so creative and organized. Great idea to put all the layouts together ahead of time, so you can just whip out that box and put together a few pages without pulling everything out.
Thanks for the website info and the wonderful pages! I love looking at the work of others and hope that it inspires me to find time to do a few layouts of my own!
Also love the scrapbook box. Very good idea!
GORGEOUS! I’m so very envious of you right now – you are on a definite scrap roll!
My favorite is the Surviving the Toddler one, too. I love the use of your coordinating paper and it just really, really looks like your style!
I love Scrapbooks Etc, too. I browse it before I go to bed – and then let the ideas roll around while I sleep 🙂
It is motivating me, I tell you. I’m off to get some work done so I can scrap…TONIGHT!
Your two page spreads are lovely. I really wish I had more time and money to scrapbook.
I love the papers you’ve chosen for your layouts. You do an excellent job! I need to get in the groove, myself. I can’t wait to check out the link in this post.
Great pages ! I think blogging has replaced my need to print pictures and put them in a scrapbook ! Maybe one day I’ll get out the scrapbooks again – maybe not. We shall see.
Love your organized box !! Great idea !
I have a box like that too – although mine holds about an albums worth in it, so I have more stuffed in there. Although let me tell you – that is not a good thing if you drop the box and spill everything….whoops!
I seem to have a hard time getting motivated to pull everything out – it isn’t that I don’t want to work on it, I just don’t want to put it all away when I am finished!
Perhaps I should scrapbook tonight too…
WOW look at you go!
I SOO need to do some scrapbooking. I finished both my boys “first year” in a book for each of them and then everything else just fizzled.
Someday. . . . 🙂
Oh I love seeing crafty folk, since I am anything but! Love the toddler spread, too.
Your pages are right along the lines of what I’d like to do…great looking, but not overly complicated. Now, if only I could find the motivation to start and scrap the boys’ entire lives.
Your are still my hero. From whence do your super powers come?
Awesome and inspiring……..I get to go scrap booking on Fri night ohboy ohboy. This is because the BA is away at her dad’s and there’s no netball on. This month it is a beach theme and she teaches us a technique then we sit and scrap for a while…with champagne 🙂 I am astounded at your organisation.
Thanks ladies…and hope you get some of your own stuff done, too!
