I see a vision of a man.
In a look that evokes his soul,
In a smile that looks far too old.
I see what he has yet to become.
Behind the exterior of childhood,
Behind the innocence and play.
One day he will leave these traits behind.
And become.
Not too soon, our dear boy.
I can see it over the next horizon,
and if I could hold back the torrent I would.
Stay young…for now.
Sweet, SWEET tribute to the boy that is and the man that will be….priceless.
Take it from a mom who’s young prince is now 14 years old(15 next month) and the wee princess is 12-almost-13– time, it sure sure does fly 🙂

Oh, nice. Make me cry on a Monday morning at work.
This is so sweet.
Ohh man. That speaks to my heart! I feel the same about my little Adam… Such a little man emerging from him. Amazing. That was great, thanks for sharing it!
This is precious. It is such a blessing to watch our kids grow, but it is sad at the same time. Too bad they don’t stay young for about twice as long as they do!
Beautiful.
so sweet!
oh my. now i’m all weepy.
that is beautiful, stacy. the photo and the words.
So sweet Stacy!!!
so sweet, they grow up way too soon dont they?
oh that gave me the chills. So sweet. His eyes will always have the smile of a child! They are beautiful!
oh stacy! that photo coupled with your beautiful poem has me nearly in tears. what a sweet tribute to the boy he is and the man he will someday become.
as a mom of three boys, this so touched me. thanks.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! Way to put into words what my heart has been feeling. And mine is only 2.
Beautiful picture of your man-to-be as well.
What beautiful words – and a great shot of a handsome young man!
Oh Stacy! I am in tears here. Of all the beautiful words and images you have shared, this is one that touches me the most. I don’t have a little boy, but I do look into my little girl’s eyes and see glimpses of the woman she will be.
This is the perfect picture to go with he poem too – the out of focus foreground alludes to the childhood slipping away.
*sob*
a lovely shot & a lovely sentiment.
He is looking like a little man in that photo ! Great shot Stacy ! I love it !
Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Sometimes I wax a bit poetical. 😀
Beautiful photo, beautiful words. Happy Monday!
Oh my, you really know how to tug at the heart strings. I want to give him a big hug and tell him not to grow up too fast! And then go cuddle my babies, corn kernels and all!
simply wonderful.
Too sweet for a comment…one should just enjoy your words and the image.
Sounds like an old soul. And he has a faraway look in his eye….wonder what he’s pondering.
beautiful, stacy.
And she is also poetic. Beautifully written, beautifully photographed.
Now stop it! You are making a hormonal woman cry. 🙂

Oh, my, I just love this. As the mother of a son, I feel what it is like to look at him and see for a moment the man inside the boy. Sigh.
