Our girl loves a good book. She will sit in the library and read books or give us books to read to her. Her brother is less than enamoured with the literary finds at his disposal. The only time they interest him in the least is when he sits in bed at night perusing books as a delaying tactic to falling asleep.
Reading in the library on a big cushy leather chair…doesn’t get much better!
Anya, on the other hand, will sit there and read – actually choosing a book over a cartoon. We hope we are able to instill our love of books in our children. Kai is a work in process, but Anya seems to have become our little book worm.
What sort of bookishness do you have in store for today?
* The book pictures were pretty much SOOC…no Photoshop (f2, SS 30, ISO 1600). I *heart* my 85mm.
I love these photos ! The one of Anya in the big chair is great ! And the two of the books … love the way you shot those !! One of these days I’ll get something other than my point and shoot … 🙂 Hopefully by the end of 2008. (saving for an overseas trip doesn’t help my efforts though !!)

WOW – those pictures are amazing! I LOVE the two different one’s of the books – WOW – I have to say I am loving my new camera, but I REALLY want to figure out how to do this kinda thing – I know it cant get that good, but maybe a little bit close?! 🙂 It does have manual – I gotta start playing with it!
Anyway, mine is up – it’s hidden under a post about Aubrey – she’s actually jumping for the American Heart Association – so of course I had to boast about those good things! 😀

I love them all they are so sweet. My girl loves her books to – from an early age. My boy took his time getting interested in them but now loves to be read to and also to try and read himself.

Very nice work Stacy. I thought of using a bit of DOF but ended up with a pretty straightforward representation. Wish I could have caught Small Boy pitching books at me as he occasionally does when irate over having to put them away!!! Oh well 🙂

Oddly enough I could not find a single picture of W.W. with a book. I’ll have to rectify that tonight, especially as he loves books. He also will pick looking at the pictures in a book over watching TV and I love him even more for it. I’m not much for TV.

Oh, what wonderful photos…I really wanted to participate, though I know nothing about photography. I realize that the day is almost over, but not quite yet for the night owls, like me. I have seriously enjoyed seeing such amazing shots. I am a teacher of literature, and I ADORE books… Thank you for such a great theme.
