This weekend was far too short.
On Saturday, I took Kai to his friend’s birthday party. I didn’t get the little stinker a dump truck, since they didn’t really have any decent ones at Target. Kai had a good time at the party at McD’s. The one by us has a great play area, and once his little girlfriend arrived for the party he unglued his arms from around my leg and participated in the fun.
Then I had to drop off the stuff I had forgetten for my Pathfinder at the dealership (back seat head rests, cargo cover, extra keys…), and get back home to start dinner for friends coming over at 4pm. I got the Mediterranean Lamb in the crockpot to simmer while the kids played and then we had a yummy dinner of the Lamb, Minted Peas Rissotto and a salad I threw together. Dessert was yummy and too simple, and scarfed down pretty quick…mini brownies with fresh whipped cream and warm chocolate sauce. Yum!
Today we had brunch at one of Brian’s co-workers houses. They treated us to an authentic Northern Indian meal, and explained the differences in the cuisine from southern India. She made us a ton of dishes, all of which were yummy, and our kids played very well together. Plus they even had a present for Anya and Kailan.
Being on a dead run, I completely forget to get a hostess gift for coming over to their house (couldn’t bring a bottle of wine because they don’t drink). I really felt bad for not bringing anything. Anya was wearing her Sari Outfit I made for her and she commented on Anya’s outfit a bit. I came home and made her an apron out of the fabric I had left…I’ll post that Tuesday. I also made one of the gift’s for the PIF exchange, too, so that is another thing I will post Tuesday.
I have also come down with a super fun head cold, and those are always fun. And it was FREEZING again this weekend. I’m so ready for spring.
I didn’t get many pictures this weekend, due to all the running around and just feeling crappy. Here’s a picture of our little man all snuggled up on the couch until a fuzzy blanket doing the most fun thing in the world…watching cartoons.
I’m hoping this week will calm down at work and I won’t feel so tired. My exercise program has fallen to the wayside since just about every night last week I was working after the kids went to bed. I should have worked this weekend, but didn’t have the energy. Here’s to a less stressful week!
I hope it’s less stressful for you this week !! Especially with a super fun head cold ! That’s no fun !! Took my “pure” photos today … unless I get some better ones before then ! It is only Monday, after all ! 🙂
I hear ya. Sometimes I just loose track of everything.
Awful images. You could do so much better. Just kidding. I’m trying to think of something I’ve never told you before because they are always lovely.
I have a cold, too 🙁
Aren’t weekends always too short? *sigh* Sounds like you had a nice one, though…
hang in there…!
those pics are great. sometimes snuggling up on a weekend is the best antidote to the run-around-crazies…
You guys had a busy weekend!!! I have forgotten a hostess gift several times and it always makes you feel horrible!
Amen to a less stressful week!!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time, though! Indian cuisine is amazing, isn’t it?
Wow, you sound like quite the cook, too!
Hope you feel better
You sure did have a busy weekend, wow! Although some weekends that’s just how it goes. W.W. and I went to the zoo for a playdate with a co worker and her son which ended up being an 9 hour outing, not all spend at the zoo. Then Sunday we had our own birthday party to go that I was finishing jewelry up for the gift. So yeah, I know how it all goes too. And of course, haven’t posted any of the details on my blog yet. 😉
Whew, I bet you were glad to get back to work today to relax from all that. 😉 busy weekend for sure. You have this way of making me hungry, tho! I love the textures you’re using lately! Where are you getting your texture images – you’ve got some GREAT ones!
Thanks everyone…I am glad the weekend is over! Of course, the one coming up is pretty busy, too. 🙁 I need some rest!
Christina, the texture on the photo today I found here:

The ones I used on the photo on flickr I took myself. It really is easy to find your own textures in your own home. 🙂
such great captures. 🙂 love the texture too. i never would’ve thought of making my own. what a great idea!
great shots! i especially love the prince’s smile in the second one.
wishing you a week of calm…
wow, you can come to my house ANY TIME, love the apron!
hope you have a less busy week ahead!
