Do you remember a time when you didn’t have, like 10,000 cords to bring with you on a trip? I remember those days fondly. I still brought too much crap along, but at least I didn’t have to worry about my phone dying, and “OMG, what if something happens to the kids and they won’t be able to get ahold of us???” We have cell phone wall and car chargers, the Ipod car charger and jack (hopefully the car is equipped to plug it in *crossing fingers*), the camera battery charger…thank goodness we aren’t bringing our laptops!
I’m making lists, and checking them twice. 😉 Just trying to make sure I bring everything I will need for a week away. The San Franscico area is such a mass of different temperatures that you pretty much need to cover all the bases. “You” as in me, and not my hubby, because he can’t bring everything he may need. I need the room in the suitcase. I kid, I kid! (well, sorta) 😉
I have a basic idea of the clothes I am bringing, and have actually been putting the horrendous instant tanner on my legs so they aren’t as pasty white as they could be. You know the warnings on the tubes that say wash your hands after application? Listen to them, or you will be Ms. Orangey Hands like me.
The other packing task is for the kids. They will need all manner of clothes and toys and books and blankies for their visits with the families. When we get home next weekend, I will have a pile of laundry a mile high, of that I am certain. And kidlets will need to go through sugar withdrawal. And I will have about 1,000 pictures to download to my computer and process. Good thing I’m taking an extra day off…oh wait, I need to go into the office for a meeting that day. >:(
The most important task?? Making sure I have my little photo book made up our babies…because I am sure going to miss them. *sniff* Then I can accost strangers and tell them how cute my children are…and I will have evidence!
Lord help the poor soul that asks, “Do you have kids?” because I will show them these stellar images. 😉
LOL what priceless images, just priceless!!
I hope y’all have a wonderful trip–look forward to seeing some photos!!

Those are just beautiful! I love them!
Sniff~I hate when I leave my baby behind! Although shes 10yrs old it still sucks to leave her behind!
Have fun!
Oh, but imagine the fun you’ll have when you get home and how much you’ll appreciate them!! I hope you guys have a fantastic time. SF is still my all-time fave city. We lived there for 8 years, and hopefully one day will work our way back up there. We expect lots of fun photos!!
Have a great trip! I know know what you mean: packing for a trip no matter how short it is, becomes a major oreal for me. I’ve never been away from my kids… couldn’t even imagine!
I hope you have a wonderful wonderful trip! 🙂
A whole week without your kiddos? Have a blast. Those pictures are great…
Hey, me again. Do you have a preference when it comes to flash cards? I’m in the market for a new one and can’t decide if the more expensive ones are worth the money or not. Traditionally I’ve used Sandisk. Thanks
julie
Ha…funny post. It’s so true that you almost need a separate bag just for cords. I love these 2 pictures of your kids…what cuties they are. It is fun to watch other familes grow up via blogging. Have a great trip!
Do you have room for a stowaway? I’ll make myself useful and carry all your extra suitcases of clothes for every possible occasion. HA! I hope you have a fantastic time, even better than you’re imagining!
Those pics are hysterical!
I know exactly what you mean. I hate having to remember all of the chargers!!!!
Love those pics…… you have captured the essence of childhood between sibs.
Those are adorable !!!
Your vacation needs to hurry up and start or your likely to wind up vacationing in the loonie bin !! 🙂 SOOO MUCH TO REMEMBER !!!
Thanks on the pictures ladies. We are SO LOOKING FORWARD to our trip.
LOL – Christina – I doubt I will have ANY room for a stowaway…sorry! My bag will be packed to the gills with clothes. 😉
