I found this tutorial and thought it would make a great teacher gift, so I got one made up.

After making it, I realized I wanted something a bit more substantial.  I added handles to it, so you could actually carry it.  I added a simple tote and voila…teacher gifts!  They do look better in person…my photographing was done on the quick.

One thing to be mindful about is that these will likely get dirty, so a non-light color and a busy fabric is probably a good idea.

I made these cards to go with them.  The cheese factor is high here.

In case you can’t read it due to my heavy use of the drop shadow and stroke on the text:

Get it…Producing…Produce bags?  Yeah…a bit cheesy.

Moving on…

I had to make some for myself.  Our CSA veggie deliveries will be starting up in a few weeks, so I need some new bags to get all the goodness.  These aren’t quite as pretty, but I was going more for functional here.

I’m not sure how well the mesh will hold up, but only time will tell.   It is stitched several times, and the bottoms are creased and then sewn with french seams.

Hopefully they will at least last the CSA season.  I will let you know if the mesh is a good idea or not.  I would think there are several different types of mesh you could buy, and this is all I had access to buy.  There are probably firmer versions out there.

Okay, well, hopefully I will get a chance to photograph some of my other craftiness that I have sewn up in the last few weeks or so.  Maybe I will have some time over the weekend.
