Is it really Monday, because I could have sworn it was just Friday. *sigh*
This weekend went by very fast. On Saturday morning the kids had their dentist appointments, and it was Anya’s first time going. She did very well. HOWEVER, when the nice dentist lady starting telling her how she should start trying to find comfort elsewhere instead of her thumb…Anya pointedly and slowing turned her head away. She didn’t want to hear nuthin’ ’bout giving up that thumb! The dentist did say her teeth look fine right now, but around 4 is when we should really start pushing it.
Kai had a birthday party for one of his friends after lunch, and was a new experience of leaving him there for the two hours. I had already had an overnight spa thing with my girlfriends planned, so Brian had both kids. Anya wasn’t invited so she was a little upset she couldn’t go to the place with the big blow up jumpy things. Another life lesson learned…life is hard.
When I got to my spa appointment I had such a headache that I laid down in my car. It was about an hour away from home, and I left 2 hours early so I had some time to kill. When I went in at my appointment time, they said they messed up the timing so I wouldn’t be able to get my facial. 🙁 I got a manicure and pedicure, so that was nice…and they gave me a discount. This spa also has a retreat house that sleeps 8 that we rented, so us ladies had tacos, chips and dip and LOTS of wine. I went to bed around 2:45am, and then got up at 8 am. I had a baby shower in my hometown.
After getting some breakfast at Perkins and driving an hour or so there, I had time to kill (again). I went to the fabric store and bought more stuff I don’t need. The baby shower was for Brian’s cousin’s wife, who is a very nice gal. I made a baby blanket and a few other things for her. Did I take a photo??
Of course not. I am feeling a wee bit swamped and behind and in need of sleep. I can’t wait for the long weekend!

Love that picture! I feel the same way about today! Monday..eee gad! It’s taken a long time to get school done today but a good night’s sleep in the camper last night has made today bearable.

My gosh, that was a busy weekend. Maybe it’s a good thing you’re back at work now, so you can get a littel relaxation. 😉 The overnight spa escape with friends sounds wonderful, even if the scheduling got messed up.

Sorry to hear about the spa time mix up. Although a pedicure and manicure and a discount does sound like they tried to make it up to you.
