Last weekend we participated in an annual golf outing with my old neighborhood.  The “neighborhood” is a township in the country, where some people have lived their whole lives.  It’s always fun to get together with everyone.  While we golfed, the kids got to play in the water and ride Alex (my sister’s older horse) with my sister.  They also had a playmate.  One of the golfing couples didn’t want to leave their 10 year old home by herself.  She plays really well with the kids, so a fun time was had by all.

After the golfing we had the cookout.  They always make some yummy chicken on a big open pit grill and everyone brings food.  No one starves, that is for certain.

While we were getting the food ready and the menfolk were cooking chicken, a storm blew in.  The more severe stuff went North, but we definitely got a downpour and a good drenching.  The men bravely stood under the little tent and cooked chicken and drank beer and bullsh*tted.  Once the worst of it passed, the kids ran out in the rain and got fairly soaked.  I was prepared…I brought extra clothes.  You would think I had precognition thinking they would get all wet and dirty. 😉

Just an FYI for next week…I will be traveling for work and coming home from San Francisco on Thursday.  I’ll have my post up, but won’t be able to get commenting until Thursday night at the earliest.  4 hour flight + time to check in and drop off rental car + 2 hour time change = one day shot to h*ll. 😉
