I love it when things work out.

This past week the kids started their first swimming lessons.  Yes, we finally have them in an organized activity.  We were able to get both kids in the same class, but didn’t get my first…or my second…choice of times.  Since there was only three kids per class they needed to find one that had two openings.

We got to the class and as we were waiting for their class to start, one of Anya’s old daycare buds came walking over with her parents.  They had a playdate this spring after A. had left daycare when her mom quit working full-time after baby #2.  I was feeling guilty last week for not giving her mom a call and getting another one scheduled this summer, but our summer was so FULL on the weekends.  Well…serendipity at it’s finest – the girls were in the same class!  Yay!

The kids had a great time and the 1/2 hour class went by so fast.  I was really impressed with their teacher and how she got the kids engaged and comfortable with the water.  The classes are spendy, but the small class sizes and the ulta warm pool make it worthwhile.  The classes go until December 15, so I think they are worth it.

The teacher said they all did really well and it was one of the only times she had a class for Littles 1 that no one cried!  Kai was only upset when it was over – he had so much fun.  He asked where he was going to next since there were lots of other classes going on.  I explained to him that we were done for this time, but that we were going to be coming every week so he would be back.  That staved off the whining I could see coming on. 😉

I’m really glad that the two A.’s can renew their friendship! 🙂
