I am trying to think of how to write this post…I saw my friend Bekki tonight for the first time (yes…finally…how bad of a friend am I?!).
First off, I have to say that for having 3 major surgeries on her brain just a short time ago, she looks great. She does look like she had three major surgeries on her brain just a short time ago, though. The stitches, swelling and shaved hair is to be expected for what she has gone through.
I’m not sure she really realized I was there, but I hope she did.
My hope is that this period in her life will be just a blur for her. The hospital, the surgeries, the pain…hopefully it will end up being a vague memory and the only thing that she will really remember are the people that surrounded her with hope and love. Her family has been enveloping her with a big hug of love, and that resonated when I visited her.
During my vist, she was pretty darn tired, so it was brief. Her mom brought me in to see her, along with one of her aunts, and I was grateful to see that she was looking pretty well. She appeared to be pretty woozy and tired, so we left her so she could rest. Upon leaving her mom gave her a finger kiss to her nose. Being a mom, this touched me deeply, because that simple action holds so much love it swells your heart.
Girlfriend has a long road ahead of her, but she has a lot of love and support around her.
Trouble is part of your life — if you don’t share it, you don’t give the person who loves you a chance to love you enough.

I hope she knows we will help her through her troubles, for right now she is full up with them. The road to recovery will be long, but she has the strength to endure it…and loved ones behind her to help.
[…] for them and it is just frustrating. The only reason I made it was because it was for my friend Bekki, and I can’t say no to her. Her little nephew definitely has a doting […]
