Well, here it is…the much anticipated annual card.  I’m afraid it is sorely lacking in creativity and orginality this year.  This is just a preview for all you folks that will get a hard copy of it, because that is still in process.  As in, I haven’t quite gotten much further than looking at the stamps and envelopes forlornly.  I keep coming up with ideas of when exactly I have time to sit down and address them all, and it gets swept away with doing things such as making dinner and washing clothes.  They will get sent…probably…just not in a TIMELY manner.

 Christmas-card-2009

I had a little issue with our annual cards this year.  The first issue I had was that we didn’t have a picture until late last week.  (Yes, Anya’s hair needs a good brushing, but she always looks like that…so it’s just fine.)  This part is generally completed by around Thanksgiving, because I don’t like to add to the stress of the holidays.  Not unlike I am doing right now.

My next issue was that I was in quite the hurry designing the card, and my proofreading skillz were not to be used.  I ordered a simple photo card this year (I usually do folded cards, which I do like better…but something had to give!), which was great in that I could pick them up the next day.  I had them hot off the press and in my hands at noon on Friday…and read the text I wrote.  GAH!  TYPO!  I showed the typo to a few males, and they promptly turned into 14 year old boys.  They took it as a sexual innuendo…so, I obviously had to reprint at that point.  No question on that.  Of course, now I see another typo but that’s fine.  It will just have to do.

I was all set to send them out this past weekend, but alas…it was not to be.  I will hopefully get them sent out …soonish.  Until then, here is our digital “Merry Christmas!”

*Just a note on the posing of the kids…Anya actually posed like that behind her brother all by herself!  The only issue I had was that each time I clicked the camera she had to run over to see what the picture looked like.  Every.Single.Time.  Then got frustrated it was taking too long.  Kids!
