This past weekend we tried to go see the Easter Bunny at the local mall.  I told Kai all about the nice bunny rabbit that gives treats.  He is so cool and you can even go sit on his lap.  Kai has a few stuffed bunnies at home and has even seen some real bunnies, so he was excited at the prospect of the bunny.  Little did he know what to expect when it came to seeing the Easter Bunny.

We got in line to see the Easter Bunny and I pointed to the bunny/man.  Kai looked at the enormous bunny and pointed saying “Bunny!” with a confused look on his face.
Me: “Yes, Kai, that is the bunny.  Very nice bunny!”  Hmmm…I can already see we may have a problem.

Kai:  “Bunny!” in a mildly upset tone of voice.

Me:  “Yes, Kai…Very Nice Bunny.  You get to sit on bunny’s lap and take a picture with Anya.  Can you sit on his lap and take a picture?”

Kai: “Bunny?!” in an “I don’t want to go near that thing” tone of voice.

Our turn to go in comes up and we tentatively walk towards the bunny.  Kai wanted me to hold him, so I’m holding both him and Anya and walk towards the enormous bunny.

Me:  “Do you want to sit on his lap?”

Kai: “Nooooooo.”

Me:  “Are you sure?  He’s a very nice bunny??”  Yep, ain’t gonna happen today…

Kai: “Nooooooo.” in a slightly whiney voice.

Me:  “Okay, guess Anya gets her picture taken by herself.”  Meanwhile Kai has a death grip on my arm since there is no way he is letting go and sitting on that HUGE bunny.

Here is the cute picture of Anya sitting solo on the bunny:

Maybe next year…
