It actually wasn’t as traumatic as I thought it would be!  I didn’t shed one solitary tear, surprisingly enough.  The stylist was a very nice young lady and she just cut the 10 inches that they needed.  I think it was at least another inch that was taken off when she was straightening it out, so about 11-12 inches was taken off.  It was really nice that the salon donated the haircut, so it didn’t cost me anything to get my hair cut for Locks of Love.

I must say, though, ladies…find a salon that does this: washes my hair, massages my scalp, puts a hot towel on the roots to condition them, meanwhile she gives me an arm/hand massage and then on the way back to the chair I can dip my hands in the parafin wax and it stays on while she cuts my hair.  I LOVE this salon just for that part.  It doesn’t take an expert to cut a straight line, so for me, it’s all about how well they do in that part.  Plus, it doesn’t cost any extra from the other salon’s I have frequented.

Here’s the pictures from my cut:

I really like it!  It is totally a “hair flipable” haircut. I couldn’t flip my hair before, because…well, it was just FAR too long to flip.  Now I can flip it around like a supermodel!   😉

After I got my haircut I went to another store in the mall and a lady there said, “I love your long hair!”.  I laughed and said I just got it cut off for locks of love.  She was amazed at that.  Oh, and my hair is a lot wavier now without that extra weight on it.  There is a definite curl factor…so weird since my hair was stick straight my whole life until I had kids.  I think it may have gotten thicker, too, but that might just be my imagination. 🙂

What do you think?
