Yummy. That’s all I really need to say about this. Well, maybe one more time…YUMMY!
I had seen something similar on The Pioneer Woman’s blog, but she said it was chick food. She also added a few other things, but really…just keep it simple. I don’t think any man I know would say NO to this. In fact, I’m pretty sure of it. All the men I have served this to have eaten more than their fair share of it. This is it’s own food group. ‘Nuff said.
1/2 brick cream cheese
1/4 cup muffaletta, drained
1.5 cups shredded cheese (I used aged gouda and aged white cheddar)
1/4 tsp garlic salt
Loaf of french bread or 2 good sized crusty rolls, cut in half
Mix the cheeses and garlic salt all together, slather on bread and bake/grill until done at around 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. These were ciabatta rolls, but I’ve used french bread before, too. Really…any good bread will work. This can also be a bit messy, so aluminum foil is a good thing to have around. If you noticed the ones on the ends don’t have muffaletta…I’ll give you one guess as to why. Apparently the kids don’t like olives. Silly kids!
I so want to come to dinner at your house!
