We had a nice weekend up north for the annual festival in Brian’s hometown. We got there in the early afternoon Saturday. I just didn’t get up as early as I wanted, then the kids needed a bath, then I had to pack clothes and wait on the dryer for clean undies for Kailan. *sigh*
When we got there we went down to the midway with all the family, and had a nice time visiting with everyone while Kai and Anya gorged themselves on several rides. I think their favorite was either the 2-story high slide or the dinosaur bounce house. Their least favorite was a pirate ship ride that didn’t look too bad, but it did get them a bit frightened. I had the carny guy stop the ride a bit early since they had more than enough. Kai was excited at first…then his expression gradually changed to one of near tears. Anya had her head down after the second swing. At least daddy was there to give them comfort. 🙂
When we got back to Aunt Susie and Uncle Jerry’s house, the kids got to ride a horse and feed them, too. Fun stuff! That night Brian and I went down to the beer garden and listened to music and talked to old friends. We got back to the house way too late.
We got home yesterday around 3:30pm and naps were taken by almost all. I went through the 300 photos I had taken since Friday. I was a little shutter-happy. 😉
Looks like a wonderful time! 🙂
Stacy, How do you get the background to white out like that?
Cara, I was shooting in heavy shade with bright sunshine just outside of the shade. To properly expose the foreground, I need to blow out the background turning it white. HTH!
You are so talented. These are incredible photos.
So fun! Didn’t Anya used to be afraid of horses? Or was that dogs? Now I can’t remember. But still – what a big girl she is, riding on that horse!
Like the detail in the two headed horse shot.
You alawys get such good angles in your shots.
I like the horse photos – but LOVE the kids on the horses – they look so serious and intent!
Ahh, who needs a pirate ride when you have a trusty steed to enjoy??? The horses look like much fun – and the kiddos seem to be having a good time too! I love Anya’s grip on the horn 🙂
WOW! What a weekend & some excellent shots you got!! My favorite is the on of Anya in front of the horses…something about it is just perfect!
Get some rest, girl…sounds like you need it!
Anya is too freakin’ cute in braids!
They look totally at ease on horseback…that’s mama’s blood in them, right? 😉
AWW they look like they had such a blast! I love horses – though I have never even been on one – someday I hope!
Oh I love horses and those are beautiful pictures. Great job. We’re in the throws of school and still adjusting to everyday life with school attached. Hope you have a great week.

Anya in the saddle is positively adorable. 🙂 What fun! Sounds like an activity filled weekend that’s for sure. With slides, dinosaur bounces and horse rides I bet everyone was maybe even overdue for a nap when you got back home.
Sounds like everyone needed naps! They look so small on the horses!
I don’t know if its’ possible, but these MAY just be my favorite of yours yet Stacy. I’m partial to any shot with a horse in it.
At the begining of your post you said your children were cute, this is not a true statement they are gorgeous and they sure are having fun with the horses. just stopping by to say Hi.
I was wondering if my comment came through about your cute kids?
The horses faces came out beautifully! What fun for the kids to go riding.
