As in slow down, don’t be so dang busy, relax, try not to fill up every second of the day…Just Be.

Another full weekend is in store. Today we have a visit to our local ride park that is sponsored by Brian’s company. They rent the park for the whole day and all the rides are free. It is great! We don’t have to worry about standing in long lines or hoodlums beating the crap out of people (yeah, it was a summer full of crime there this year).
Then after the kids get their fill of rides, we will attempt to drag their tired and whiny bodies out of the park, whereby they will fall asleep in the 15 minutes it takes to get home, thereby negating any possible nap for the afternoon. We will at least be able to pawn them off on their sitter, who is coming at 2 pm so we can get to a wedding that starts at 3pm. The reception will be at a wine bar…it’s almost too good to be true!
Sunday I have a photo shoot with friends, which I am looking forward to doing. It is just the time it takes to process all the pictures that is hard to fit in. A better computer would aid me in this task, but I’m not going to get a new one until after the end of the year. My 5 year old laptop will just have to slowly, slowly, slowly chug along. Somehow I get it everything done, even though I want to rip all the hair out of my head sometimes. I need some patience, and my computer is trying to teach me that. 😉
I’m not sure how I’m going to photograph idleness this week (other than sitting in front of my computer while it is trying to “think”), but hopefully I will get a chance to do so. 🙂
Children are consumed by idleness, though they are very busy. Oh, to be a child again with no responsibilities…except to play and have fun.
Just be. Good advice.
I miss the land of no responsibility.
Hope your hair stays in/on your head.
I love how when the kids are in a picture together they actually look like they are enjoying eachothers company. They seem to play well together. I know there are probably times where that doesnt happen, but you have done great in capturing thier relationship in these playful shots.
Stacy I feel your pain. I am looking so forward to Christmas! We are investing in a new PC, and I have added a few accessories to the wish list that involve photo-editing! I really find it hard at time to do nice processing on a lap top…well my lap top in general. I am already thinking of ideas for Thursday…maybe I will post in time this week.
Five years is the age of our computer too – I can feel your pain. My editing programs have been giving me fits, I’ve lost lots of pictures (still trying to recover those ugh!) and I KNOW SLOW :).
Good luck.
I’m amazed at all you do – I always come here for a bit of motivation!
Oh, this is a great theme! I’ve already got some pictures in mind this will work nfor it…for I can be totally idle this week, but still participate!
Hope the amusement park, wedding and photoshoot have all gone well…that’s a lot in one weekend!
I hear you! I love the shooting, I never have the time for the processing and organizing. I guess that is what winter is for, eh?
I’m in AWE of all that you do, so I vote *yes* for an idle weekend and week.
*le sigh*
oh yeah, I so need some idleness too!!!!
