Kailan is at that point where he doesn’t freak out and scream when he gets his hair cut.  Makes for a much more enjoyable session, albeit not quite as entertaining.  He sat so good the whole time, and laughed, instead of screamed, when the lady razored around his ears.  I was very impressed.

At the end of the session he was presented with a lovely sticker, showcasing shameless marketing.  It was a sticker, so Kailan didn’t care that he was a walking, talking billboard for Kid’s Hair.  He, however, knew that he deserved one more item for being such an angel during the haircut session.

There was a bucket of DumDum suckers up on the shelf.  Taunting him.

The nice haircut girl asked if he could have a s-u-c-k-e-r, and I said, “No, it’s too close to his bedtime.”

Taunt.  Taunt.  Taunt.

Kailan looked like a poor little puppy gazing at a t-bone steak sitting up on the counter.  The longing was tangible.

Being a SUCKER myself, and seeing the forlorn expression on my little man’s face when he wasn’t offered a beloved s-u-c-k-e-r, I allowed him one.
