I love Fall, and that always means a visit to the pumpkin patch. We go to a very bare bones pumpkin patch. It is in a field with no bounce house, hay rides or all the other stuff. Most of those other places have the pumpkins lined up neatly in a row, but we like to go look for them out where they actually grew. Plus, it’s only a few minutes from the house. 😉
The rain clouds had passed us by, so there was a beautiful deep blue sky with the storm over yonder.
Can you hear him grunting as he’s trying to lift the humongous pumpkin?
When we got home the kids got out their markers and started drawing faces and hair on their pumpkins. I still have the big one for me that I need to carve out. Maybe a project for this weekend.

What is your version of Fall?

Incredible pictures, Stacy.
Great theme this week! My favorite. Love your PP shot. We plan to carve ours this weekend after our trip.
The colour in the first one really grabs me. Particularly the way her stockings pop next to the pumpkins 🙂
Here’s my version of Fall. I had to trawl the archives as it’s actually Spring here.
Fall
I love the colors and how it looks like you can see for miles in the first photo. These pictures definitely have the feel of Fall.

The skies are incredible!
This weekend husband and I are going to have dim sum…and then we are making our annual trek to a pumpkin patch (I don’t recall it having a bounce house, but there is a big fancy trebuchet).
love the color and expressions!
Pumpkin patches are fun regardless if they are full of rides and hay or just plain pumpkin. There is something special about the pumpkin. 🙂
We still haven’t had the experience of a pumpkin patch yet. The 4-H farm fall festival is this weekend and that’s probably about as close as we’re going to get.
Thistle and trees for me this week.

Fall in SoCal
I’m in Maine enjoying STUNNING colors right now, but had to post today on from last year. Full of technical flaws, but I love the idea–maybe I’ll try and perfect it this year!

These are beyond awesome Stacy. I especially adore your clothing choices (which were obviously picked to match these beautiful scenes). Shot #1 OUGHT to be in a magazing I say.
Beautiful pumpkin patch photos! I didn’t take my camera to the patch this year…I just have some photos that my friend the pro photog took (he came along with us). While they’re beautiful, I wish I’d taken my own…I just have my own style for photographing my own kids, and the ones he took don’t match mine at all!
I don’t know of any pumpkin patches like that around here, where they’re literally grown right there. That’s be pretty cool. We still haven’t made it to ANY pumpkin patch, tho…or done anything autumn-y….
The look on your son’s face is priceless! My son is two this year so this will be the first Halloween that he remembers. I can’t wait to carve a pumpkin with him! For me, fall is brisk weather, changing leaves, Halloween and high school football games (my dad has been a coach my whole life). Oh I can’t forget that fall is the beginning of fire place season!
That first shot looks like something right out of a magazine!
