Yesterday was Anya’s 18 month appointment. So here is the good news:
At 18 months:
She is 22 lbs 15 oz, and that is at the 27th percentile for weight.
She is 33.25 inches, and that is at the 87th percentile for height.
Her head circumference of 18.5 inches, and that is at the 61th percentile for head circumference.
She’s tall and skinny.
Now for the not so good news. The doctor wants to put her on a daily dosage of Singulair asthma/allergy medication for her breathing. He thinks she is showing the early signs of asthma, since every time she gets a cold she has to go on the nebulizer. This is supposed to prevent those occurrences. We’ll see. For now we are going to start with this, but if it doesn’t help we will take her off of it. We don’t want her taking drugs for no reason. I really don’t think that her lungs have fully recovered from her RSV last winter. She’s had so many colds that have escalated into the wheezing that they just haven’t had an opportunity to get better. Maybe this will give her lungs time to recover and we won’t have to keep giving it to her. Let’s hope.
