Well, I should have taken a picture of the incredible mess that was our house, but I try to block those stressful moments out of my psyche. It was messy, believe me!
We all got some very nice presents. The kids got loads of toys. I got a new large crockpot, a new photo frame, DVD’s and varies sundries. Brian got lots of gift cards to Best Buy, so he can continue buying games and/or new CD’s. One of my favorite presents was actually Brian’s present. Fleece sheets! Oh my, are those nice to climb into when the house is cold at night. The kids got some last winter and they love ’em, too. We are trying to be all energy conscious, so we turn it down to the mid 60’s at night.
One of my favorite quotes from the holidays came from Kailan. You see, last year Santa TOTALLY dropped the ball and did not bring him a Transformer Computer. This year he asked for a Batman Computer, and he was really hoping Santa would get it right. He opened up his present on Christmas morning and said, “WOW!!! I got my Batman computer! Santa didn’t get me what I wanted last year, but he got me what I wanted this year!! He remembered!” The kids are now at the point where they remember things a year ago…no more hoping they will forget things LOL!
Here are a few of my shots from the holidays. I took mostly snapshots, nothing too earth shattering this year. I wasn’t really wowed by any of my photos over the holidays. They were nice captures of family moments, and that is all they needed to be. I wasn’t trying to hard to do anything fabulous…I was on vacation! I have all my pictures in my scrapbook, so I believe I can say that that aftermath is officially cleaned up and we are ready to move on to the doldrums of winter. *sigh* Only 3…or 4 more months until spring.

What do you have to share today?

I love your shots. I hardly ever take any on xmas, every year we use spend our time only in church. In our church we have an orphanage attached and time spent with those childrens will be a plesure for me.
I like the one of you and your sister!
What is it about the big events? I rarely get any shots either? I got a few here an there, but I have been on a serious vacation, too! I used today as a December wrap-up, just so I don’t have to feel like I need to go back and blog about all of that stuff. New fresh start!
That one of Christmas Eve is a beauty, oh and I love your tree too. We have some hanging glass ornaments a bit like yours. They remind me of icicles. You look very relaxed and lovely there with your sister. I notice you hair has grown back nicely!!!!!
I tried to get creative with ‘aftermath’ today. I am still playing around with my ‘new’ SLR. As you can see I still have a lot to learn. The manual is on a CD and it is soooooo slow to read on the computer I am just working through trial and error 🙂

I’m a bit swamped at work today, so I will get over to see everyone tonight. Thanks for sharing!
So glad this was the Theme today! Gave me a chance to FINALLY get around to posting pics from Christmas!
Hmmm…looks like I’m definitely not the only one who doesn’t take a ton of pics at big events…I guess we are all too busy enjoying them…and, that’s a good thing too!
I love the one of you and your sis too & there is something so different in Anya’s face in the picture of them together…wow..she’s growing up fast!!!
Ooops…didn’t add my link:

I love the photo of you and your sister!! I didn’t take very many photos this Christmas either. Sometimes it is just more fun to sit back and relax.
Looks like an excellent Christmas to me. 🙂 Since the flash has passed away on my camera I’m taking a lot fewer indoor pictures lately. So I went with a new years set of pictures for our holiday aftermath.

I’m another one that enever takes very many pictures at the special events! It seems everyone expect us photogs to have awesome family pictures…but we don’t! Nontheless, it sounds like you had a wonderful holiday and kudos to you for getting it all scrapbooked and everything!
So a Batman computer is a real thing? I had no idea. lol I’m glad ds didn’t know about it when he was younger. I am already having to fork out for things like a dedicated World of Warcraft keyboard (read: piece of junk with Warcraft images printed all over it)…I shudder to think of dealing with a toy computer! lol
Looks like a great time! AJ asked for a CARS computer from Santa and was pleased as pie to get it. I love the picture of Daddy making cookies with them, sweet~
🙂
I like to see your husband making cookies with the kids. My husband can’t cook but he can make chocolate chip cookies. This was the first year Francesco was able to help and they had a blast. We already decided that it will be a tradition to make cookie with Daddy.
Oh your last comment about spring, even my kids are asking when it will be warm again.
I gave that Batman computer to someone last year. I love it. Ella has the same one but it is Barbie. I get so excited when she plays the games on there. Wonderful holiday memories, as you said, is all you need!
And ya….After a snowy day like today, I cant wait for Spring!
