We had a nice time with Grandma yesterday. It was just a short time over there, but I’m glad we made the trip over there. You don’t turn 85 everyday!
Then we went home, and Anya miraculously fell asleep in the car for almost the whole time…amazing! Since they were expecting cake for the birthday party, they really wanted cake when we got home. Being the dutiful Suzi Homemaker, I made them a little chocolate cake (5 minutes…in the microwave…seriously EASY!). Then they proceeded to beat up on each other making me not really want to give them chocolate ever again. *sigh* At least for a short time they were relaxed…
That first shot is so sweet. Happy Birthday Grandma!! I have seen the microwave chocolate cake recipe, but haven’t tried it. I am excited about this week’s theme.
As always the pic’s are gr8. the only critique I have is, I got a crink in my neck from laying down on the computer desk to look at Kai’s pic. (how the heck do you get that thing to rotate?) Sounds like you all had a fun time with Grandma! I was fortunate enough to have my gr8grandma till I was 9 or 10.When we visited, she would always get out the soda crackers and put REAL butter (home made) on them and sprinkle with a little sugar. I never got a pic of it but I will have that memory forever:o)
Love the texture on the last picture.
Happy Birthday Grandma! I love how you got everyone smiling in that first picture 🙂
Great b&w’s! What a wonderful picture of Grandma with the kids. Total framer. The shot of Anya is so sweet looking with her baseball cap and her Dora skirt. And Kailan looks so peaceful in the last shot.
I think you need to share that chocolate cake recipe!!! Five minutes…that’s dangerous!
choco cake in the microwave. 5 minutes? yes…definitely need that recipe!
and the texture on that last photo is fantastic!
85 ! Wow !! That’s impressive !! She’s looks great !
Five minute chocolate cake ??? How can you talk about that without posting a recipe !!!??? ha ha
I WISH is a tricky one!!! Hmmmm have to think….
Congrats to your Grandma Josephine. Hope she had a great day.LOVE that second photo of A. And yes, chocolate. Ah well, at least they didn’t beat up on the furniture (they save that for when they’re teenagers >:-(). We have a certain lemon lime soda drink here which sends Small Boy up the walls. His father hadn’t made the connection on Friday and bought him TWO bottles!!!!! No wonder our car trip to the country was exhausting. He didn’t shut up for ONE MINUTE!!!!! 🙂
Awesome pictures. Love the last one and the post processing. You always take the neatest pictures. I need to practice more converting mine to B&W.

That first picture is priceless!!! Check out the first picture on my post from today – something look familiar? 😉 Still LOVE IT!!!!
85 does only come once and it’s good to be able there to enjoy with family too. 🙂 Although I don’t blame you for wanting to retract the chocolatey goodness you made them. I have that feeling often when dessert is in site and then anarchy lets loose in the house.
Nice texture edit on the shot of Anya. Love that bit of darkness around the edges.
What a sweet pic with Grandma~
85 years young, if we could all be that lucky!!
🙂
Happy birthday, Grandma!
I’m diggin’ Anya’s cool cap, and your cool textures!
Grandma is a gorgeous 85! Love that shot…the kids are going to treasure that some day.
I always adore your “relaxing” shots of the kids…so real and cute.
Great shots! And I can’t wait to see what everyone has for this week’s theme Thursday — what a great pick!
