I wanted to make some artwork to put up in our kitchen redo, so I used different variations of the blue and red paint colors and came up with these pieces. I used brushes in photoshop that I made from my artwork and used textures (free from Flickr) over the top so they have an aged look. I had them printed in a 12×12 size with a matboard backing, so I won’t have to use a frame.
I just need to figure out how I want to mount them on the wall. I was thinking of gluing a ribbon to the backside of all of them, with maybe a tassel at the bottom and a ring sewn in the top of it. I’ll see what I can conjure up. I found some frames on Amazon.com that would look nice, too. Decisions, decisions! 🙂
That’s as crafty as I got this week! Maybe Carrie has something a bit more hands on…I’m not sure if computer stuff is really “crafty”. 😀
Brian said I need to figure out how to get my patterns on tiles. If only it was easy to do that kind of stuff, right? I did find a site that can put your image on a tile, so I’m looking into it. I want to make sure they are putting it directly onto the tile and it isn’t an overlay. I’ll make up a different design if we do go this route since then they won’t all be the same. I know there is a way to put pictures on tiles with modge podge and acrylic sealer. I don’t know how they would stand up to being a tile on a kitchen backsplash, but they are pretty as a display.
Very cool…as usual… Can’t wait to see your kitchen pics when everything’s done. I need to be inspired to do something with ours, since it’s still builder beige.
I love them. I think the first one is my favorite. They will definitely be a nice addition to your kitchen!! That would be awesome if you could get them on tiles.
I love them. They would be perfect tile patterns. Make sure to post pictures if you are able to do it (which I know you will)…
Oh I definitely count computer art as crafty! (Sometimes it is the ONLY creativity I get in in a week!)
They are very cool, I can’t wait to see the finished kitchen…it is going to make me very jealous, I’m afraid! 🙂
Oh yea, those would be awesome on tiles!!
Thanks everyone. 🙂 I defintely think we will be going the tile route, too. That’s if it doesn’t take them a huge long time to do do them.
Are you kidding..? That kind of of creating (even if it is on a computer) is definitely still within the definition of “crafty”.
Wow woman. Is there anything you CAN’T do?
I especially love the second tile… the detail is terrific. Keep us posted on the tile adventure!
These are so beautiful Stacy. The textures are a great addition to the design. I bet they are going to look great in your kitchen how ever you get them mounted.
Those are very very cool!! I will have to remember that!
I have to agree with Brian, I think tiles are an excellent idea. If you found someplace that did little tiles your designs would make great coasters. 🙂
I am always amazed at how talented you are Stacy — these look awesome!
Those are GORGEOUS – totally my style!
Wow! I would never have thought of using a computer for something like this. I am so archaic.
