There are parents out there that do not buy their children guns, swords or any other kind of dangerous implement.  Then there’s us. 😎

We like swords.  We really, really like swords which is fairly obvious when anyone enters our home.  We have a katana that my grandfather brought home from WWII.  We have a Viking Seax with a handle carved from boar’s tusk.  It’s a work of art.  We have several decorative daggers and a matching sword and dagger.  Then our newest acquisition this year, a rapier.

So, it should surprise no one that our children have swords.  They each have one, and Kailan has decided that the best way to carry his sword is putting it on his back through his shirt (???).  I think he got this from watching the Record of Lodoss Japanimation cartoon.  Of course, since Kailan was doing it, Anya wanted to do it, too.  She must follow her leader, and he is nice enough to assist her in the proper way of sword-wearing.

We do make sure that they do not poke each other with the swords.  They are well aware that they are not allowed to hit or stab each other.  Most of the time they just run around with their swords and go “Haaaaa!!”.  Our little warrior prince and princess.
