Just a bit of randomness around here….
** It has been freakin’ cold here for June. We had the 3 coldest days in a row for June since 1951. We held out and didn’t turn on the heat but I was really, really close! It is finally warming up a little this week and we had a beautiful weekend.
** I had a photoshoot this week with one of my regular cuties. You can see it here if you want to look at her smiley little face! After reviewing these shots I really want to take my kids out for a real photoshoot with them. Don’t get me wrong…I have PLENTY of pictures of them, just not ones that are “styled”. We also need another family photo. *sigh* I’m so bad about getting them.
** Rookie camp on Saturday and then we were off to my hometown for my cousin’s youngest son’s graduation party. Ermmmmm…when did they get so old?? Brian even got to put up hay with my family. Lucky guy! I would have helped but my back has been so crappy lately that I knew I would be in a lot of pain if had to throw a few hundred bales around.
** Sunday was up to Brian’s hometown to his sister’s house and then home Sunday night around 9pm. A whirlwind of visiting!
** The baby bunnies vacated their little nest. Then Kitty found at least one of them. She found her way outside by jiggling the screen door and came inside to present Brian with her capture. It was still alive so Brian put it back outside. Kitty was pretty proud of herself and then spent the next day or so meowing a lot because she wanted to go outside to get more!
** We got our first CSA delivery this week. It was a bit on the light side since it has been a cold spring. The veggies have had a late start. That’s fine, though. I’m just happy to have some locally grown organic veggies. They had 2 basil plants in this week’s box, which is just lovely. I planted them straight- away. Now I have some strawberry and raspberry plants that my mom gave us that needs to find a place in the yard. I’m not sure where yet.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Wow! Looks like a whirlwind weekend but a fun one no less!!
Yay for the CSA! Hope some warmer weather comes your way and I am terrible about getting family portraits done, it’s long overdue!
🙂
Love orange kitties! So glad you are having some normal weather of late. The last shot is especially beautiful.
All of these are unbelievable — just gorgeous! What a busy family you are – not that I am surprised! I love the shot of the t-ball — the perfect sign of summer!
What a busy weekend! I enjoy your nature images so much – especially the first one! Apparently we live in different universes since it was unbearably hot and humid here this weekend. I could do with some cold!!!
I’m with Christina. She and I will be heading your way real soon for some heat relief.
I just love those flowers in your top shot. What are those called??
Amazing images… per usual 🙂
Especially (of course) love the horsies shot. How on earth did you get them to all line up and look away? Perhaps Anya is standing in front with some grain? 🙂
Hope it warms up for ya!
The flowers in the first picture are bleeding hearts. The horses lined up in anticipation of a bunch of hay.
Love the barn shoot. I agree I ready for real summer weather.
goodness gracious! All the pics that you have in your week’s post are breathtaking, Stacy! Wow wow wow!
I can’t wait to get myself a DSLR… you inspire me so!
Sorry it’s been so cold for you guys still! It’s been cooler here too, but I will take it! It gets to dang hot to soon here…
Loved all your randsomness tho… really really enjoyed this post!

That’s lovely series of shots on rural life in the US. I love the one of Brian putting up the hay. And what about Kai’s little T shirt with his name on it and the bat called ‘slugger’!!!! Wonderful.
Wow! All those shots are just gorgeous. I especially like the sun flare and barn shot. Simply amazing.
our weather has been super strange as well – way below normal, and June Gloom for weeks now. but the weekend there looked lovely! and orange kitties – LOVE them! always so nice to see some amazing photos from you!
love all the kitties in the grass !!
Wow, what a whirlwind! LOVE that first flower shot – sooo cool! And, the barn shot, and the sky shot – wow! I know what you mean about styled pics of your kids – after I did that newborn shoot of my nephew, I was thinking – man, why don’t I do more cool stuff with my kids????
My daughter melted when she saw that horse photo!
That barn shot, Stacy…Wow. I love Anya with the kitties too. Great pairing. As far as the weather goes, I was getting pretty tired of the cold and grey days, but I think Christina and Melody flung some hot and humid weather our way! Looks like you guys had a great weekend.
