Well, I’m not sure if she was Irish…tonight some friends got together to celebrate a beautiful life.   We drank wine, reminisced and…cried.

Today (Yesterday??) I found out that one of my friends died from cancer.  Moreover it was the surgery she had to remove organs, the ensuing renal failure, and in the end blood clots that made her heart stop beating.  So…it wasn’t the cancer that directly killed her,  but pretty much.  We were all optimistic that she would beat it!

She was a bright shining optimistic person.  A beautiful heart!!!  Really,  she exuded sunshine…truly. I’m pretty sure I can’t express HOW MUCH SHE DIDN’T DESERVE THIS. She left behind two young boys and her husband.  My heart hurts that they lost their mom and wife. Her Father in Law died in May.  I think they have had more than enough sadness for one family to take.  Oh, the tears I’ve shed for them.  🙁

Life has yet again proven it is not fair.

There is a time for everything,
And a season for every activity under heaven:
A time to be born and a time to die
A time to plant and a time to uproot,
A time to kill and a time to heal,
A time to tear down and a time to build,
A time to weep and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn and a time to dance,
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
A time to embrace and a time to refrain,
A time to search and a time to give up,
A time to keep and a time to throw away,
A time to tear and a time to mend,
A time to be silent and a time to speak,
A time to love and a time to hate,
A time for war and a time for peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

RIP Gwen – your spirit will be missed…so very much.
