This weekend we just decided to stay in and relax with the kiddos. Well, except for taking them to their first ever movie in a movie theatre. We took them to see “Up” and they were pretty good the whole time. The kid in the hallway was not, however, and wanted to go home pretty much the entire time. I mean, he was little and crying…not that I was being judgemental at all when he was saying, “I’m scared!”. Nope…not me. His parents paid good money for that movie and were derned if they weren’t going to stay the entire time. I totally understand. Anyways…
The rest of the weekend was pretty much a little weeding and some sewing for me. Tonight we went on a walk after supper, and enjoyed the cool and breezy evening. We hardly remembered the 90+ and humid from earlier in the week. I’ve been really trying to be more patient with the kids this week after my friend’s passing. Her kids were 6 and 8, and there are so many things they won’t be able to do with their mom. A simple evening walk is something that they will never experience with her again.
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed their families. These reminders of the fragility life really make us appreciate those little things.
Like a little girl entertaining us with a song on a rock.
I keep wanting to have a couple of days to STOP and breathe and catch my bearings. I’m so glad you got to do that – and for the reminder to enjoy and appreciate the little things.
Lovely pictures, as usual my friend
Thanks for the reminder …
You are so absolutely right. Treasure every moment.
I agree about the movie thing. That happened with Natalya at almost 4 at Polar Express. We did leave though.
Ooooooh, don’t you love that when people so graciously do that….. stay and make everyone else suffer? Ugh! That is when the manager would get brought in, in my opinion. It’s just plain rude! Kind of reminds me of the woman in the back of the church with the screaming baby, that won’t take the child out! LOL! Anywho, moving on!
Loved that your weekend was so mellow and refreshing! Hoping that your heart is finding comfort from those that are closest to you…. hugs.. Amy
Such beautiful light in these – I love that evening light! I know what you mean about the movies – we took Caden to his first movie when he was 22 months and he did great – but, there was a younger kid in there SCREAMING the entire time – he was sooo unhappy – I don’t get that!! They WILL give you your money back, ya know! LOL!
Oh look at her on the rock! She’s a girl after my own heart. What is she singing?
