The way the media hyped up this weekend’s storm you would have thought it was the storm of the century.  Batten down the hatches people, make sure you are stock up on your Pinot Noir…you may not be able to get out Saturday night to resupply.  Silliness.  We buy it by the case so we are always stocked up!

We woke up Saturday morning to….a dusting.  Whoot, by golly, how are we going to drive in that??  Thankfully my 4-wheel drive Pathfinder was up to the challenge and we were able to venture out to order Kailan’s big bed (for there are TIGERS in his crib-sized toddler bed…we think it just might be a ruse, though).

Later it started to snow in earnest and today we finally took to the outdoors to assess the damage.  There appeared to be about a foot of snow in our driveway.   Brian didn’t go out there until the afternoon, wilst most of our neighbors had long since snowblowed their driveways.  He might have been a bit apprehensive about the undertaking….just maybe procrastinating a teesy weensy bit.

As luck would have it, we have some nice neighbors!  It was JUST LIKE like Superman swooping in to save the day.  One of our neighbors, that we had never met before, offered his snowblowing services to Brian and Kai.  Kai, was of course helping daddy shovel with his own pint-sized plastic shovel.  Every cup of snow he moved with it helped don’t ya know!  Brian learned that they had just had a baby in December, so we gave them one of my latest baby gift creations.

They made quick work of the driveway and Brian piled up a bunch of snow for a sledding hill.  Oh my gosh, it was just so thrilling for Kai!  The laughter was peeling out of him and it was so much easier on daddy to do that as opposed to the long snow filled decline in our back yard.  Hard work turned easy by tons of snow on the driveway!

Anya was napping the whole time, so she didn’t go outside in the snow…not that she would have enjoyed it anyways. 😉
