This week I took vacation from my day job so I could do my night job during the day…sewing for the kids.  Our friends/contractors also came over to dig out the egress window and do some plumbing work.  I sat inside my cozy little dining room sewing while they got hot and sweaty and shirtless in the front yard.  The neighbor ladies got a good show. 😉

Our lovely big egress window well…it will fit a 5×5 window.

This was also Kailan’s first week of Kindergarten.  I did pretty well until he got in his seat on the bus and waved at us.  Then I shed a tear or two.  It’s already old hat to him, so that is good.  He is enjoying school.  Of course the teacher already had to call to tell us that another kid poked Kailan with a pencil.  Sounded like it was intentional, too.  Dang kids!

We had lots of deliveries for stuff we bought, so our garage is getting a might bit full.  Hopefully we will still have some room left.  A bit of rearranging is in order.  This week we will get the table and bench seating we bought a few weeks ago, and I’m not sure where it will go.

My mom and sister also came for the day on Thursday.  That was nice to sit and visit with them, but we had no water that day.  We just had to make do.

At the end of the week, I scheduled my “free” massage I got through my chiropractor’s office.  I guess when you spend gobs of money with them, they give you something free.  It was a one-hour Shiatsu massage, and oh boy…was that nice!  I’ve never had a real massage before and was always afraid I would be too ticklish for it.  I just made sure that she stopped tickling me when it got to those points and then it was fine.  I didn’t realize how sore I was in certain areas, but she sure found them.

It was a busy but productive week.  I got several outfits made for each of the kids and our house is starting to take shape a bit.  Of course, you have to take the bad with the good.  It took the guys at least one more day than planned to dig the egress because they had to go through wet clay.  I felt so sorry for them…it was hard work.  Then, when the fireplace guys came to do the rough-in for the unit they found that our clay topper on our chimney is cracked all the way through.  Great.  One more thing to fix on our house.  Why can’t things go smoothly?
