With the children that is. Night out’s now mean that I don’t have to cook, so WHOOHOOO, it’s a night out! We went to a local haunt, the neighborhood Friday’s restaurant. It is very kid friendly but they still serve a pint, so a great place to go. Plus they have balloons. Can’t get much better than that!
When we go out to dinner, it is always eventful. I try to include things like books and flashcards in my purse as a diversion. There is only so long an almost 2 year old and 3 year old will sit still. Especially since they don’t eat food, so really, that doesn’t take long to get boring for them.
This time, well let’s see. Kailan went to the potty three (or was it four?) times, declaring to all within range, “My poopy coming out!”. Yeah, he’s ours…No, he wasn’t born in a barn.
Anya only had to get changed once, and she didn’t declare quite as loudly as Kai that she had “Poopy, mommy.” She’s got manners, that one.
Kailan then decided to remove all articles from my purse…wildly swinging my iPod recharging cord and was just moments away from opening my little “girl stuff” holder and emptying the contents out. Our children live to embarass us don’t they? Not to worry, I have some great bathtime images for future blackmail purposes.
At the end, Kailan attempted to devour the shared dessert all by himself and was rather put out that he was thwarted. Meanwhile baby girl was practicing how to say “chocolate” appropriately. I’m not sure either of them actually tasted the dessert because as soon as it passed their lips they were asking for more. I think they just swallowed it whole. If they only knew how much better it would taste if it actually landed on their taste buds!
After our little foray into adult land, we went home to bath and bed. Balloons in tow…exciting times. 🙂
If you have a chance, please go read Melody’s post about taking her son out to dinner. What some children endure at the hand’s of their biological parents just astounds and sickens me. At least some of them find their way into a loving family. Each time I read about Melody’s sons, I thank the Lord that they found their way to her. They couldn’t ask for a better Mom.
ROFL. That’s all I can say. Life with kiddos is never boring.
Oh, and congrats on your award winning Tabblo!
